Service Description

I use a solution focused approach to counselling that explores solutions rather than the fixating on the problem. In order to understand the issue(s), the client(s) and practitioner must briefly identify the problem and work collaboratively to build lasting conflict resolution skills, improve communication through developing empathy and active listening, and preventing conflict from starting. Furthermore, I integrate holistic, evidence based therapeutic approaches to manage the distress that conflict creates. You will learn effective coping mechanisms, boundary setting and communication strategies that will serve you beyond your session. Counselling sessions performed by a registered social worker are covered under most extended health benefits plans and Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) through Indigenous Services. I offer this service on a sliding scale for clients on a low/fixed income who do not have extended health coverage. The base or minimum rate is $75/hour to a maximum of $150.00/hour. Connect with me on the home page to find out if you qualify for sliding-scale rates.
